In summer 2026, a group of wonderful young horse riders created this video at Camping Vert Lavande in Belmont-sur-Rance. A huge thank you to them for sharing these lovely memories with us!

Bringing your horse on holiday with us means enjoying:

  • Pitches specially designated for horse riders
  • A free paddock with a water supply
  • Six signposted horse-riding routes starting directly from the campsite
  • Quality meadow hay delivered on request
  • All the village shops just a 2-minute walk away

And that's not all! Just below, you can also read Esther's account of her stay with her horse in September. After all, the best people to tell you about our warm welcome for horse riders are those who have experienced it for themselves!

"A wonderful horse-riding getaway in the heart of the Grands Causses, in Belmont-sur-Rance!
As a small group of female trail riders, we stayed at Camping Vert Lavande in Belmont-sur-Rance with our horses. It was an experience we particularly enjoyed, both for ourselves and for our four-legged companions!"

"On our first day, we enjoyed a 15 km ride starting directly from the campsite. We followed Trail Route No. 31 on the Rando Grands Causses app, along lovely, pleasantly shaded paths – perfect for discovering the surrounding countryside at a leisurely pace.

On the second day, we headed north-east for a beautiful 23 km circular route, which we had found on Visu GPX (the red loop – Saint-Seminet). After a lovely climb beyond the mill, we reached a sunny plateau where we could enjoy some wonderful canters. We also found a fantastic picnic spot with magnificent panoramic views.

For our third ride, we followed Trail Route No. 34 on Rando Grands Causses, another signposted trail corresponding to the red/orange loop on Visu GPX, heading south-west towards Saint-Sever-du-Moustier. This charming 22 km ride was full of beautiful discoveries. Halfway along the route, we came across a delightful little village where both horses and riders could enjoy a pleasant break by the river.
Over these three days, we discovered picturesque and wonderfully varied landscapes. Exploring them on horseback was a real pleasure!
We all particularly appreciated the quality of our stay, both the comfort provided for our horses and the warm welcome we received.
A big thank you to the owners of Camping Vert Lavande for their warm hospitality and for welcoming our horses so generously. This is an address we will treasure and definitely keep in mind for our next horse-riding getaway!"
